05/21/2017: Golden Cracks – Breakage & the Fine Arts of Repair 🗓 🗺

Recorded Sundays
4418 Perry Ave NE, Bremerton, WA 98310 Map

10:30am-11:30am, KUUF sanctuary, Joseph Bednarik – If the two certainties in life are death and taxes, a third may very well be “and everything will break along the way”. This sermon explores breakage and repair, with a special focus on “kintsugi”, the Japanese practice of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with gold, to create visible repairs that accentuate, rather than disguise, the history of an object.

Our speaker will be Joseph Bednarik, co-publisher at Copper Canyon Press in Port Townsend. Joseph also serves as assistant to the minister in the pulpit at Quimper Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and is a frequent and popular speaker at KUUF.
