Kids helping Kids!
Each year, Spectrum Choral Academy’s spring concert will benefit a local youth charity!
All 2018 Spring Concert proceeds & donations will benefit the:
James Stojack Memorial Music Scholarship Fund!
Created in memory of James Stojack (1995-2017) and his passion for music. James passed away August 20, 2017, at the age of 21, following two unsuccessful heart transplant surgeries at University of Washington in Seattle. He was born with hypoplastic left heart (having had three open heart surgeries and been monitored at Children’s Hospital throughout his childhood).
The James Stojack Memorial Music Scholarship Fund will help aspiring youth musicians in need of financial assistance to fulfill their dreams of taking music lessons. James grew up in Port Orchard & attended Peninsula High School. He sang in choirs, was an avid guitarist and professional cook—even earning funds to buy his first car by performing guitar at the Port Orchard Farmer’s Market so that he would have transportation to fulfill his dream of working as a cook in Seattle. James worked at Greenhouse Restaurant Gig Harbor and Altura, Lark & Cafe Presse in Seattle.

Spectrum will partner with a different local youth/children’s charity each spring to give back to the community. Please contact us if you have a charity you would like us to consider for a future season.
Music is often praised for helping a child in many ways—such as offering cross-curricular support, improving test-taking skills and performance, and even boosting attendance in school.
Beyond all of this—music promotes discipline, working together, listening, sensitivity, and a sense of humanity that lies within all of us. The important of music in a young person’s life is unquantifiable.
Music has the power to change a person, which in turn can change a society…and eventually, the world.
Spectrum Choral Academy is a community chorus program with three levels for passionate youth musicians, ages 5-24. Rehearsals are held weekly in Gig Harbor, with singers coming from throughout the region. We are currently accepting new singers for summer choir camp & fall enrollment.
