03/03/2019: Why Stories Matter

10:30 – 11:30 KUUF Sanctuary, Rev. Nancy Reid-McKee: The stories we learn and tell impact the way we live in the world. Rev. Reid-McKee will tell several creation stories and talk about how our understanding of creation influences our relationship with others and with the planet.

Nancy Reid-McKee completed her Masters in Divinity at the Starr King School for the Ministry in 2018, as well as serving as a Ministerial Intern at the UU Congregation at Shelter Rock, in Manhasset, New York.  She has been a Unitarian Universalist for 19 years, with a strong involvement in the Social Justice and Community Organizing programs in her home congregation and state.  Prior to becoming a minister, Nancy was a Nurse Practitioner, working on the Navajo Nation and with other government agencies.  She switched career paths in her 50’s as she decided to pursue how she could be fulfilling a dream of being part of healing our world.
