06/16/2019: The Red Robe Shouting Stop: Connection, Community, and Suicide

10:30 – 11:30 KUUF Sanctuary, Joseph Bednarik: This year’s KUUF “Auction Sermon” confronts one of the most challenging topics that human beings ever face: suicide. Nobel laureate Albert Camus wrote, “There is but one truly serious philosophical problem and that is suicide. Judging whether life is or is not worth living amounts to answering the fundamental question of philosophy.” Using real-world stories and excerpts from literature, we examine that charged moment when a person asks, “Is this life worth living?” and how Unitarian Universalists might respond.

Joseph Bednarik, a frequent and much-appreciated speaker at KUUF, is a publisher at Copper Canyon Press in Pt. Townsend.
