5/26/2018: LORD’S NEIGHBORHOOD DINER IS LOOKING FOR YOU!

Good evening LND folks.  It’s getting to be that time again. I’m excited that we (KUUF) have maintained our resolve to fight hunger and economic inequality for another year!  Yeah!! I’m also very excited to tell you that the RESULTS organization has nominated AND selected the LND to be their 2018 Humanitarian Award winner!! (Man! I love it when that happens). This means that due in part to the hard work and devotion that KUUF has shown to the LND, we all helped the LND become an award winning community provider…and a great big WOOYAH to all of us. Really super news. Honestly, we all should be proud of what we do there.

Back to business. KUUF has a meal on the 26th of May…that’s the last Saturday of May. KUUF always has the last Saturday of every other month. For your planning calendars, that will be: 28 July, 29 September, and the 24th of November.

Okay then, the mornings and afternoons are wide open. Mornings are 10:30 – 2:15 PM, afternoons are from 2:00 – 5 PM. I look forward to hearing for everyone soon. Thank you all.

Subj: Request for board members

Good morning Lord’s Neighborhood Diner (LND) volunteer organizations. As the LND is entering its 20th year serving Kitsap County residents, we once again find ourselves short of board members. This is an opportunity to be involved with the behind the scenes work necessary to keep our organization supporting the low income and homeless populations of our county…this isn’t a burdensome job with never ending demands on your time. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month, for an hour, in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church parish hall at 7 PM. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to help the most vulnerable persons within our community, you have found it…and we are looking for you. Please contact Eric Harrold at ericharrold@msn.com or Dennis Frey at dfreyak@gmail.com for more information regarding the LND and how you can get involved. Thank you for caring.
