Welcome to

Summertime At  KUUF

During the summer months, things slow down here at KUUF.  Many of us like to take advantage of the beautiful weather by spending extra time outdoors, so we only offer one Sunday service, and tend to keep it short.  Our minister and Director of Religious Education both take some time off, so things feel more laid back and informal.  In this relaxed and accepting atmosphere, we come to sing, speak, and share silence together, and to enjoy the beauty in our world and in one another’s faces.

Many of the groups that meet during the regular church year go on hiatus.  It’s always a good idea to get in touch with the contact person for any meeting or event you’d like to attend.  While you’ll notice things aren’t as busy as usual, there are still plenty of opportunities to connect, learn, share, and play together.

A sense of community and a deepening awareness of gratitude and awe are growing this summer at the Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

Summer Sundays:

Sunday Morning Worship:

One service, 10 am

In the summer time, many of our services are led by lay people or guest speakers.  Check out our website, or our newsletter, The Candle, to find out the topic of the day.

For children who have not yet gone to Kindergarten, we provide childcare during the service.  Kids ages 5-11 are invited to participate in our summer Religious Education program, “Having Fun with Dr. Seuss.”   Each Sunday, the children read a story and participate in a game or activity.  Older children can attend adult worship or assist the teachers in either classroom.

Potlucks:  A Cherished Tradition

On July 6th and August 31st, you’re invited to brunch potlucks in lieu of the worship service.   Starting at 10 am, we’ll talk and eat and get to know one another better.  All ages welcome.

KUUF Farmer’s Market

Each Sunday in the breezeway, we hold a farmer’s market.  People bring veggies, fruit, plant starts, and baked goods to share.  It’s a great way to eat local...and also an opportunity to get rid of your extra zucchini.

What if I need Pastoral Care?

Our minister, the Rev. Liz Stevens, is on call for pastoral emergencies over the summer.  For routine pastoral care, please contact our Lay Pastoral Ministry Team Coordinator, Sunday Farr.  Her e-mail is lpm@kuuf.org.  Also on call is KUUF’s Chaplain, Diane Hudnall.

What if I have a question?

Our office administrator, Melissa Manchester, is in the office three days a week.  If she doesn’t know the answer to your questions, she will at least be able to put in touch with someone who does.   Don’t hesitate to ask!

How do I get my name added to the mailing list?

Contact our main office during the week.  We’ll gladly send you our newsletter, with additional information and updates on summer programming.

When does the regular church year begin?

Ingathering Sunday is September 7th.  We’ll have our annual Water Communion service (bring a small container of water from your travels or your tap!) followed by neighborhood gatherings.
