In these times, we deeply need faith communities dedicated to love and justice and compelled to live out radical welcome as a spiritual practice. In this service guest preacher Zr. Alex Kapitan, creator of "Responding to the Anti-Trans Movement," which a number of us engaged with last year, will share how radical welcome isn’t about simply opening our doors or being friendly, it’s about creating spaces where each of us can bring our full selves forward, see our truths reflected, and be transformed by our relationships with one another.
Immediately following the service, there will be a 10 minute video introduction of the class "Trans Inclusion in Congregations" which will start in September at KUUF. The co-leaders of the Transforming Hearts Collective, Zer. Alex Kapitan and Rev. Mykal O'Neal Slack will be teaching this 8 week class via video along with in-person group discussions on how our congregation can deepen our welcome and support of trans individuals and families in our community.

Attacks are now faster, more personalized, and designed to bypass traditional security controls. Christina Ho will highlight the top threats identified for 2025-2026 and discuss how to protect yourself against bad actors. To remind you, KUUF was hacked with a message seemingly from the minister, that asked for contributions and some of the congregants lost money.
