Rev. Dr. Nicole C. Kirk presents Give Sorrow Words
Unitarian Universalist minister Dr. John Wolf said in his 1986 Berry Street Address, “The church is not a body of doctrine, or of reasons, or of explanations. It is a community of those who have known the deepest valley and who have passed through it to the other side.” This Sunday, you are invited to spend time exploring the deepest valley, what it means to do this in community, and how we find the way, together, to the other side.
Rev. Nicole Kirk is the Frank and Alice Schulman Professor of Unitarian Universalist History at Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago and a Unitarian Universalist minister. She served congregations in Ohio and New Jersey before pursuing her doctoral studies in American Religious History. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Religion.
