Rev. Carol McKinley presents Who Is My Neighbor?
What can we learn from the past? What does what we learn shape our perspectives, our relationships? This year marks the 80th anniversary of the forced evacuation of Japanese Americans from their homes to remote locations surrounded by barbed wire and watchtowers. The first evacuation in the United States took place in Kitsap County, on Bainbridge Island. By looking at the past we can better understand how fear and prejudice turn into real harm.
