What if the urgency of the climate crisis, paradoxically, calls for an end to protest and a deepening of attention to our relations? As human beings, we live with great dependence and vulnerability. Imagine slowing down and becoming as accepting of your body’s needs, limitations, and dependence on others, as you are of your longing for independence. What might you find there? Between independence and dependence in our relations, perhaps there is a third way. It’s one of our shared UU values, interdependence.
