Rev. Victoria Poling presents The Practice of Invitation: Gathering the Waters
Next Sunday we’ll celebrate coming together again for the beginning of our 2024–2025 congregational year. For our in-gathering water ceremony, please bring a small amount of water to symbolize a body of water that is important to you, whether it is from where you live, or a place you have visited. We will gather the waters together as a reminder of our interdependence within the watersheds of the Salish Sea and beyond.
An Empty Cup for Gaza at the In-Gathering
As you offer a bit of water during the annual water ceremony in-gathering service, Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East also invite you to place an empty paper cup next to the shared water vessel in solidarity with the 2 million Palestinians in Gaza who are being denied potable water. This prayerful action is in response to the General Assembly, where UU delegates passed the "Solidarity with Palestinians" Action of Immediate Witness, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Our KUUF Social Justice team will be available to assist you in decorating your cup before the service.
Rev. Victoria Poling (she/her), is our KUUF half-time minister. She also serves as the minister to the Vashon Island Unitarian Universalists. Rev. Victoria identifies as a queer, white, and Hispanic Pacific Northwesterner. She loves blue herons, peppermint tea, and lentil soup.
